How many, how often and when? These are some oft-repeated
questions when it comes to homeschooling hours. Flexibility is of
course one of the key underlying principles behind homeschooling.
This flexibility applies not only to the curriculum but also to
the number of hours. It is only natural that parents, especially
if they have just started out on homeschooling should feel that
their children should be at their books all the time when regular
school-goers are at school. This is not only fallacious but can
also be damaging and counter-productive.

One of the most ignored but glaring drawbacks of the public
schooling system is the sheer waste of time and energy that it
causes. Many periods are simply wasted away and the child
effectively derives only 1-3 hours of study everyday. Then, there
are days when the studies become too intensive and other days when
it’s only games and no work at all. There is a lot of ‘invisible
wastage’ involved here.

Early on in your homeschooling practice, work out a schedule. It
is advisable to stick to the same hours everyday. A routine makes
it easier to learn and gives structure to the learning experience.
It also tells the students that parents are strict about their
learning. A routine also allows your child to free his mind from
other activities and concentrate on studies. He knows that a
particular time is strictly set aside for learning.

Whether it is your two week, two month, two year, or twenty year anniversary, you should celebrate your time together with your loved one in a very special way. It should be a day (or night) to remember for ever. Many people seek advice on how to celebrate an anniversary in a way that will be special for both themselves and that special loved one. Whether you are in your first relationship, or just out of ideas, it is still easy to celebrate your anniversary in class and style.

Many women in a newer relationship expect a lot of their significant other’s when it comes to celebrating an anniversary. The best way to please these women is to arrive at the door (or home from work, if you’re married) with a dozen roses or other flowers, a nice box of chocolates, and a sentimental anniversary card that really shows her how much you care, then whisk her away to a romantic dinner at your favorite restaurant.

Those in older relationships tend to celebrate an anniversary in a different way. Especially those with children cannot get out as often as they would like. In this case, a dozen roses or some other flowers, a nice box of chocolates, and a sentimental anniversary card to let her know that she is still the love of your life, is definitely the way to go.

Social concerns of homeschooling

Social skills is an area of deep concern when it comes to
homeschooling. Many critics point out that since man needs to hone
his social skills, a homeschooling environment where social
interaction is limited is detrimental to his growth and
development. But studies have proved this wrong.

Children put into the fiercely competitive school environments
lack the confidence to hold a conversation. Such children show
little genuine interest in the topic of conversation and don’t
know how to interact with people of various age groups,
especially their elders.

Learning about astrology is absolutely essential for anyone who is interested in the New Age movement! As the New Age movement is based on the belief that everything and everyone in the universe is spiritually interconnected, that concept lends itself to a wide range of beliefs which promote it, such as the connection of everything in the cosmos, mystical power known as “energy” or “energy fields,” and, of course, astrology. One particular form of astrology, quite different from the usual types which are more well-known, is very much aligned to the New Age movement and its beliefs; it is called Karmic astrology.

Founded by Martin Shulman, belief in karmic astrology is based on the concept of karma what one specific individual sees and perceives is different from what another specific individual sees or experiences in the same situation, due to each having his or her own life lessons to process, lessons which were not satisfactorily processed in one’s past lives. Instead of assessing the differences of individual persons as being due to each having his or her own unique personality, mind and emotions, karmic astrology stresses that it is a matter of one having not properly fulfilled his karmic role in his previous lives. Karmic astrology is the only form of astrology which bases its conclusions on reincarnation; and that one’s true influence, which covers everything from one’s opinions to one’s means of experience, is not coming from one’s present-day life, it’s coming from one’s past.

Now that you have begun your homeschooling schedule, there are
various questions that trouble you. Should you study continuously,
take a number of short breaks or a long vacation? What about
public holidays? When should you take a break?

The answer to these questions and many more like these are
actually quite simple: Do whatever suits you best. This is one of
the appealing benefits of homeschooling. You do not have a set
pattern to follow. You do not HAVE to take that autumn break, or
close shop for a prolonged summer vacation. Flexibility is the key
here. For some practiced unschoolers, even a definite curriculum
is not necessary because lessons are a part of their day- to-day
life. But this may not be the case with beginners. Beginners may
need to chart out their activities to fall into a pattern.

The Top 7 Tips to Help You Plan a Surprise Party

Planning a surprise party can be very fun and enjoyable for all of the people who are involved. And, if you and your co-conspirators can keep up the charade until the party happens, then you can have one very surprised and happy guest of honor.

Even though the secret of your surprise party lays with all of the people who will be in attendance, there are some simple things which you can do, as the party planner and host, to help ensure the best outcome possible. Here are seven tips to get you started to planning a surprise party which your friends and relatives will be talking about for years to come:

Tip #1 -Find out from your guest of honor, or even better from their significant other, what their schedule is like within the timeframe you are considering for the surprise party. Use this valuable information to set the date for your surprise party.

Tip #2 -Enlist the help of someone who can devise a fictitious activity for the guest of honor to partake in on the day of the party. The closer to your home this activity is, the easier it is for your helper to ?have to stop in at your home for a moment?on the day of the party.

Tip #3 -Extend your invitations to all of your invited guests. When you make your invitations make sure that each of your guests understand that the party is a surprise and should be kept that way. Ask them to please not share the information with your guest of honor or anyone else who might mention it to them.

Tip #4 -Come up with a planned event which everyone who may run into your guest of honor can use as a diversion if they need to. However, if your guests don’t think they can “lie”to the guest of honor with a straight face, suggest that they avoid them for the time leading up to the party, whenever possible and practical.

ife is a gamble. What better way to celebrate that gamble than by rolling the dice or playing cards all night? A great casino night is definitely a lot of fun to be had by all. You can choose. Of course you will not be able to use real money for this but can allow each guest their own set of chips or monopoly money to play with for the evening and have fun prizes for the winners and funny parting gifts for those who do not fare so well. The important thing is that you are celebrating the great gamble that life really is in the perfect style for doing so.

Whether you go for a grand James Bond Style Casino event complete with tuxedos and a full and flowing bar or go for a more tropical sort of casual casino theme it is important that the music and drinks flow freely and that everyone has the opportunity to have a great time. Great decorations for your casino night will differ according to the style of casino you are attempting to incorporate. Needless to say gaming tables, a roulette wheel, and lots of dice are sure to please your guests as great party d’cor. Otherwise go with the sub theme of your party.

Be sure to let your guests know if there is a dress code for the evening when sending out invitations. You may purchase your invitations online quite easily or print your own. Again you will want to go with the method that works best with the theme of the Casino birthday party you are throwing. If it’s an over the hill sort of birthday party you might want to make the invitations humorous with some sort of reference to the fact that lighting the candles on the cake may be a gamble in and of itself. Remember to let your invitations begin the party theme and work from there to build things up.

On the big night you can raid your local party supply store or an online party supply shop for all sorts of gambling related decorations. From fuzzy dice to oversized cardboard cards and hundreds of things in between you can go as elegant as you’d like with your casino night birthday party or go for some of the more ‘party’ themed casino settings that you will find as well. You are only limited by your imagination and personal tastes when it comes to properly decorating for your casino birthday party. With that in mind, make the decorations as fun or as elegant as you can stand.

As for the food, what sort of self respecting casino wouldn’t have a grand buffet prepared. Display your food buffet style and if possible have a catering staff circulating with drinks throughout the room. For your casino night birthday party finger foods are the best. Shrimp cocktail, crab puffs, petit fours, cocktail sausages, meatballs, sausage rolls, pigs in blankets, dips with appropriate bread and crackers, finger sandwiches, and any other great finger food you can think of. Another great addition to your buffet table would be a chocolate fountain with plenty of marshmallows, pretzels, and fruits to cover.

You will want to be sure to have appropriate casino sound effects. While it isn’t possible to have a wall full of slot machines, at least not in my neck of the woods, you can get the slot machine sound effect for a more realistic feeling in your casino or you could skip the slots and keep this a table games only section with great music overhead. The choice is yours and the sky is the limit.

Be sure to take plenty of photographs in order to create a scrapbook of the grand event. Not only will this help preserve your own memories of the evening but it also makes a great gift for the guests who have shared moments in your life and make the gamble worthwhile.

There is that little kid in all of us that wishes we could have been around in the days of the Wild West. Whether your interests were in blazing new trails into undiscovered country, riding the range, going on a cattle drive, homesteading, or panning for gold there is something romantic about the old west that so many of us find appealing whether male or female, old or young.

The Wild West lends itself to many wonderful and exciting birthday party themes for the brave host or hostess. Hopefully some of the ideas mentioned below will get your creative wheels turning and help you plan the perfect birthday party for the Wild West Wannabe in your life.

Wagon Trail. You can create a wagon trail of sorts of your own, in your own back yard. This is great for younger cowboys and trailblazers. All you really need is a covered wagon (feel free to use your imagination for this), an open fire (check with local regulations but open fires are great for cooking hot dogs, s’mores, and using a Dutch oven for stew as well as warmth and light at night (especially if this is an overnight party).

Gold Rush. This can be a blast, literally if you aren’t careful with the TNT. Seriously make fake TNT for decoration as well as rocks that have been painted gold, frosted mugs for the root beer (especially if the crowd is under 21), and chicken nuggets and corn nuggets for lunch with a gold themed birthday cake to top things off. Have everyone dress up like prospectors and go out panning for gold if you have a creek nearby that would be safe for ‘prospecting’. It’s a great outing and a lot of fun for everyone. Even if you don’t strike gold you might find an interesting rock or two that make excellent keepsakes.

When the child stays at home all day, and mommy is the teacher,
there are certain issues of discipline at stake. It is easy for he
child to misconstrue the freedom he has at home and feel that
homeschooling is just a long summer holiday. This is a potential
landmine and children need to be disciplined right at the start.

Homeschooling gives you and your child a truly immense amount of
flexibility. You and your child decide where to learn, how much to
learn and when to learn. But,these should be decisions made at
the beginning stages. If your child is too little to take an
active part in the decision, chart out a few hours of the day for
the various activities, and stick to it. When there is no outside
agency to supervise and no exams to answer, it is easy to get
sidetracked. If your child is old enough, consult him and find out
when he wants to learn. Apply your parental discretion and come up
with a timetable.

Astrology is the study of the stars and their influence on our daily lives. The study of astrology can allow you to understand how these influences affect your life and the people around you. This can help you to better plan and deal with all of your relationships.

The first step in using astrology to improve your relationship is to obtain your own astrological birth chart. Your astrological birth chart and its interpretation can help you understand your origins and underlying forces behind your behavior and reactions to others. With further study of astrological influences you will begin to understand the best times for you to make decisions and work through problems that can occur in relationships.

The next step in using astrology to improve your relationships is to obtain the astrological birth chart of the people that you want to become closer to. These astrological birth charts and their interpretations will enable you to see some things about these people that you may have not yet seen. They will also allow you to learn more about their origins, and the events that may have occurred in their lives to bring them from this pure personality to the person that they are today.

With further study of the art of astrology you can learn how the various planets, planetary movements and alignments, the position of the sun and the moon affect your moods, reactions to events, and reactions to others. You will also be able to learn how these astrological influences affect the people that you have relationships with. This information will arm you with the necessary tools you will need in order to confront problems in relationships at the most opportune times.

The next step in using astrology to improve your relationships is to obtain software that will enable you to track planetary movements, planetary alignments, and other astrological phenomena. The most helpful astrology software will also provide descriptions of how these astrological phenomena will affect various signs and personalities. This information will allow to you plan discussions, events, and major decisions.

The best thing about using astrology to improve your relationships is that when you have all of this information you will be better prepared for your own emotions and reactions as well as those of the people in your relationships. This will allow you to understand the basis behind the actions, reactions, and emotions of these people. It can help you understand when you are the cause of a problem, when they are the cause of a problem, and when astrological influences are simply making resolution difficult.

When you have this information you are able to better communicate with the people in your relationships. You will know when to distance yourself emotionally from decisions, and when you are most likely to have conflict so that it can be avoided with effort. When you understand astrological influences on yourself and your loved ones you will be better prepared to deal with anything that comes your way.
